18th Nov 2006: Session On Binary Code & Rounders

The winners for the 1st term during this academic year were patrol 4 lead by Hansmukh. The patrols have now been reshuffled so that there is equal distribution of strengths, to cultivate adaptability of the scouts in different teams & to test the true leadership skills of the leaders in the troop.

The first meeting with the 'changed' patrols may have gone a bit confusing for the PL's, but by now they seemed to have adjusted to their new patrols.
This meeting was quite informative and at the same time enjoyable. It was one of those few meeting where you HAD TO THINK !!!
When Khoj and Ajit entrerd the school premises Apurva called a rally an dall the patrols assembled, recited the prayer song and entered class 5 C.

Jaosh then conducted a session on Binary Codes. He explained their history (in short), meaning & methods of conversion to decimal form & vice versa. What he explained was that if we would normally percieve as '7' or '8' the computer would translate it into binary language and understand the same thing in terms of ones and zeros.
Then we were given some Binary System logic Questions to solve and submit it by the end of the meeting .
After we noted down the questions, we went running on the ground to play an action packed game of :

Rounders
The matches were between P1 & p2 and between P3 & P4 .
During the games Khoj was calling out some scouts and was giving them their presentation topics.
Then the loosers was played between P1 & P4
The winners was played between P3 & P2
Standings of the game :
1st p3
2nd p2
3rd p4
4th p1

The scores after this meeting are :
P2 = 15
P3 = -5
P4 = -10
P1 = -20

The meeting ended with a council meeting.
