Tasks for 3rd November, '06

Rockets:
1. Go to the lower posts in the blog
2. There are 2 types of rockets that need to be made... a water rocket and a matchstick rocket.
3. Each patrol needs to make both types of rockets and practise doing all of that before 3rd November
4. On 3rd November, you will have to come and prepare the rockets in front of us and then we will test your rockets


Documentary:
1. Each patrol has to make a documentary film of not more than 10 mins
2. Use a handycam preferrably... check with all the scouts from your patrol or borrow one from somebody. DO TAKE CARE of the handycam.... its expensive!!!
3. The theme for the film is as under:
Lately, our city, Pune has seen the rise of malls, supermarkets, multiplexes, etc. Due to this, the small players in the market like your local Baniya, theatres like West End & Victory, shops on M.G. Road seem to have been affected. Customers go to places like Vishal Megamart & Big Bazaar to even buy daily household stuff & grocery though it may be available near their houses. People want to shop at malls like Central, Pyramids, Westide, etc. & not M.G. road shops.

So your task is to find out the effects of these developments that have come up in the city.

You will need to talk to people, owners of the shops, etc.

***VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT***: DO TAKE PERMISSION BEFORE TRYING TO FILM ANYTHING... YOUR CAMERA MIGHT GET CONFISCATED & YOU MAY LAND UP IN TROUBLE... YOU DONT NECESSARILY NEED TO GO INSIDE MALLS ... IF YOU NEED TO GO THERE & FILM STUFF, THEN TAKE PERMISSION.
